Devo Day 8: Called To Influence

Colossians 3:23 Work at everything you do with all your heart. Work as if you were working for the Lord, not for human masters.  NIRV

Ephesians 3:10-11 He wanted the rulers and authorities in the heavenly world to come to know his great wisdom. The church would make it known to them. 11 That was God’s plan from the beginning. He has fulfilled his plan through Christ Jesus our Lord. NIRV

Psalm 90:17   May the Lord our God always be pleased with us.  Lord, make what we do succeed.  Please make what we do succeed.  NIRV

Matthew 28:19 So you must go and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  NIRV

Ministry is not just for those in church leadership or missionaries abroad. God’s favor rests on us wherever we are and our workplace really matters to him, so we need to stop seeing work just a means to an end to earn a living. By radically changing the way we think about work and partnering with God as we go about our daily activities, we can experience greater job satisfaction as we bring Kingdom influence and transformation to those around us.

Leadership is key at every level and part of society and isn’t just for those with a formal title or position of leader. In any given situation, however small that moment may be, you have an opportunity to impact your area(s) of influence in a way that reflects the leadership of Jesus, bringing alive the words in the Lord’s Prayer ‘Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’

Whether you are in a formal leadership role or part of a team, permanent or temporary, full time or part-time, paid or voluntary, know that you have been sent to seek, love, serve and transform.

Respond

Who is someone you could be leading to a relationship with God right now?

Who could you connecting to, to build a bridge of relationship that God will use to cross over on?

Ministry is not just the leader’s role, we are all called to minister, who could you minister to right now?  Your neighbor?  A family member?  A coworker?
